Aman Junkies rejoice: the luxury hotel chain has announced its plans for an 83-room “urban sanctuary” in New York City.
Set to open in 2020, the property—a combination of hotel suites and 20 private residences—will occupy 22 floors of Manhattan’s famed Crown Building on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue. Aman’s New York location will become the brand’s third in the US (following Amangiri in Utah and Amangani in Wyoming) and its second in a city destination (Aman Tokyo was the first).
In true Aman fashion, the accommodations promise to be seriously over-the-top. Rooms will start at 750-square-feet—a rather impressive feat for New York City—and perhaps even more unique, each will have its own working fireplace.
The development will also house a three-story, 22,000-square-foot spa, a Garden Terrace with panoramic views of Central Park, a Piano Bar, a Wine Library, a subterranean Jazz Club, and a Cigar Bar.
Though the company has not yet released information on hotel rates, the residences will reportedly start at $5.9 million, and the penthouse—a five-story, 14,000-square-foot oasis with indoor and outdoor swimming pools—will be listed at more than $100 million, according to Bloomberg.
Aman’s CEO Vladislav Doronin said in a statement: “The Crown Building represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring Aman to New York, the world’s greatest and most dynamic city. We are honored to be the stewards of an exciting new chapter in this iconic building’s legacy.”
