Vertical construction has begun on an office tower tall enough to change the city’s skyline.
830 Brickell, a joint venture between the Miami-based development firm OKO Group and the global real estate investment firm Cain International, will rise 57 stories — or 724 feet — when completed in 2021.
That will make 830 Brickell the second tallest office building in Miami-Dade. Southeast Financial Center, which rises 764 feet, still holds bragging rights as the county’s tallest.
Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (AS+GG), 830 Brickell will be the first new office skyscraper built in the city of Miami in more than a decade. The interiors are designed by the Italian firm Iosa Ghini Associati.
“Since my first visit to Miami in the 90’s it was always my dream to develop in this city,” said Vladislav Doronin, chairman and CEO of OKO Group, which has three other projects under construction in Miami-Dade: The Missoni Baia tower in Edgewater, the Una Residences in Brickell and the Aman Miami residences and hotel. “Miami is rich in diversity and talent, and has a continuously growing and evolving corporate landscape. 830 Brickell will be a central part of this exciting evolution.”
