Aman New York will be the brand’s second urban property when it opens in 2020 – the Singapore-based company already operates a hotel in Tokyo. It will be Aman’s third US hotel after Amangiri in Utah and Amangani in Wyoming.
The New York hotel will be based in the historic Crown Building overlooking Central Park in Manhattan and will be designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy.
The 83-room hotel will feature a double-height Sky Lobby on the 10th floor, three dining venues, jazz club and a three-storey Aman Spa, as well as a private members’ club.
The property will also include 20 Aman Residences on the upper floors including a five-storey penthouse overlooking the park at the top of the building.
Vladislav Doronin, Aman’s chief executive, said: “Aman has always sought the finest locations in the world, and we recently expanded our vision to include select cities.
“The Crown Building represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring Aman to New York, the world’s greatest and most dynamic city. We are honoured to be the stewards of an exciting new chapter in this iconic building’s legacy.”
